چکیده

Upward-going stopping muons initiated by atmospheric νμ and νμ interactions in the rock below the Soudan 2 detector have been isolated, together with a companion sample of neutrinoinduced single muons, created within the detector, which travel downwards and exit. The downward-going sample is consistent with the atmospheric-neutrino flux prediction, but the upward-going sample exhibits a sizeable depletion. Both are consistent with previously reported Soudan-2 neutrino-oscillation results. Inclusion of the two samples in an all-event likelihood analysis, using recent 3D-atmospheric-neutrino-flux calculations, reduces both the allowed oscillation parameter region and the probability of the no-oscillation hypothesis. Results from Super-kamiokande

The results from Super-Kamiokande on atmospheric neutrinos and solar neutrinos are presented. The contained event analysis of atmospheric neutrinos shows a small value of p/e ratio and a large asymmetry in the zenith angle distribution. A distortion of zenith angle distribution is observed in the upward-through-going muons resulting from atmospheric neutrino interactions in the rock surrounding...

Neutrino-Induced Upward-going Muons at MACRO

Upward-going muon events in MACRO allow measurement of the ux in the range E 10 to 100 GeV. The ratio of total observed to expected events is 0:74 0:036stat 0:046sys 0:13theor, which when combined with the observed zenith angle distribution ( 1:0 cos 0:1) agrees with the no-oscillation model to no better than 0.1%. The data are in signi cantly greater agreement with the $ vacuum oscillation mod...

Neutrino Physics and Astronomy with Macro

MACRO experiment operated in the Gran Sasso underground laboratory. Neutrino events collected by this detector are used in order to study the atmospheric neutrino flux. Different measurements in different energy samples are in full agreement and show evidence of neutrino oscillation phenomenon with maximal mixing and ∆m 2 ∼ 0.0025 eV 2. Also the search for neutrino astrophysical sources is repo...

Atmospheric neutrino induced muons in the MACRO detector

A measurement of the flux of neutrino-induced muons using the MACRO detector is presented. Different event topologies, corresponding to different neutrino parent energies can be detected. The upward throughgoing muon sample is the larger event sample. For this sample, produced by neutrinos having an average energy around 100 GeV, the ratio of the number of observed to expected events integrated...

Atmospheric and Astrophysics Neutrinos with MACRO

MACRO can detect three topologies of neutrino induced events, corresponding to different parent neutrino energies. The most numerous sample is made of upward throughgoing muons induced by atmospheric neutrinos of average energy 100 GeV. The ratio of the observed over the expected events is 0.74 ± 0.036stat ± 0.046sys ± 0.13theor. The observed zenith distribution does not fit the expected one in...
